The Platform: SMARC Carrier + Compute + AI Acceleration
Our solution combines a SMARC-compliant carrier board with swappable compute and AI modules to create a flexible, high-performance edge AI platform.
1. Compute Core (RK3588 / RK3576) The SMARC carrier board integrates with RK3588 or RK3576 CPU modules to run the operating system, handle multi-channel video codec (up to 8K), enable rich human-machine interaction, perform sensor data fusion, and execute lightweight AI vision tasks via the built-in 6 TOPS NPU. Extensive I/O interfaces provide connectivity for cameras, displays, sensors, and industrial peripherals.
2. AI Acceleration Module (RK1828) The RK1828 module is purpose-built for LLM and VLM inference acceleration. It delivers up to 20 TOPS NPU performance paired with 5GB of 3D-stacked on-chip DRAM, achieving ultra-high bandwidth of hundreds of GB/s. This architecture eliminates the "memory wall" bottleneck, enabling smooth local inference of 5B–7B parameter large language models directly at the edge.
3. Production-Ready Software Stack Rockchip’s RKNN3 SDK V1.0.0 provides full-stack support for this hardware combination. It includes deep optimizations for 30+ mainstream AI models—covering Qwen, Llama, MiniCPM, YOLO families, and more. Developers receive C/Python APIs, OpenAI API compatibility, and tools to convert models from PyTorch and TensorFlow frameworks.
4. Future-Proof SMARC Architecture By adopting the SMARC standard, the platform balances performance and cost while protecting your investment. Upgrade the CPU or AI module independently as application demands evolve, without redesigning the entire carrier board.
